WOYWDW and lots of other news

At last I am back here….after such a long time away. When my life is not 100% perfect, that little creative bit of me disappears completely…it seems to me that if it is needed elsewhere it goes, and sucks all my creativity with it! This is why I’ve not blogged for a while. I’ve so missed the online community and the buzz I get from peeking in on other peoples’ lives and checking their workdesks and getting encouraging words in return. I have felt incredibly unsettled and the stress of Christmas hasn’t helped. I used to LOVE the season and all the preparations…what went wrong?!

Happily, today, at last I had a creative blast and finally managed to machine stitch a new design. I was blown away yesterday when Hope (nearly 8) announced ‘the black cat was so fat he sat on the mat wearing a hat!’ I LOVE it! I decided to bring it to life for her today and here it is…..work in progress. I have added words on Picasa too and will test the market in the New Year to see if people like the words as much as I do when I make it into a card. Legs are all wrong....I shall work on them!

Here is my workspace….cluttered as usual but I have to have so much stuff out just to create one small thing..... If you want to sneek a peek at a few other workspaces pop over here!

I just had to share my 'non' Christas tree with you! Last year the tree I really wanted was £50.00.... WAY too much to pay, so since then I've decided to support ASBAH instead (the association for spina bifida and hydrocephalus).  They have been so wonderful and supported our family when we've needed them, and now is one of those times.
Grace thinks my tree is rubbish!!!!!
I hope she'll understand one day....

I have been keeping myself very busy making stuff to sell at various craft fairs….none of which have made me rich! It has been very useful to find out what sells well and listening to what people say….so I am fired up to put my little books on Etsy in the New Year. I know I’ve missed Christmas but they will make sweet little Valentine and Mother’s day pressies.I realise that people like my card designs, so putting them onto the books was a good move!

VERY frosty morning!

And finally....it has been incredibly cold here in England. This picture was taken on my dogwalk a couple of days ago. Yes...I know I have a few grey hairs BUT NOT THAT MANY....Jack Frost to blame!!!!! I think it was about minus 7 at the time

I’m hoping to spend two days a week creating new designs too just as soon as life settles down here and I can concentrate. I feel like I’m juggling too many balls in the air at the moment…I must try and be organised. Time to start thinking about my New Year resolutions…..and my NON resolutions too!

Hi Moira
I have missed you and I am really glad you are back. The cat is perfect. Love the hat...so fabulous!!

Yes it certainly is cold here and it is getting a bit boring now, could do with a few days at 10 degrees or above.

LOve the tree and hope you feel more your old self asap.
Happy Cristmas.

So nice to have you back Moira! Love the cat, especially the hat! Great makes as always and the tree is lovely and very thoughtful. My inlaws left Cambridge for Cumbria in what they described as an absolute blizzard! makes for lovely photos though, and they aren't grey hairs it's just Jack Frost up to his mischief!

Have a wonderful Christmas

The black cat is gorgeous and I really like your tree. We can waste so much money on mass produced stuff and what you have created is lovely.
Have a lovely christmas. Sandra

Lovely to see what you have been up to, Moira. Love the mini albums & Hope's cat poem. You've done it justice!
I know what you mean about the Christmas spirit. I'm tagging a long but the excitement is missing - hopefully I'll catch it when I am with my family Christmas day.

Your tree is beautiful, and so is the reason behind it.

The cat is fabulous. She definitely has an eye for fashion, and I can imagine plenty of stories featuring the cat in the hat.
