Rainy day project: screen printed card spinner cover

how about this then? Two blogs in one day. I LOVE rainly days when I can lose myself in my studio and today I made a list of jobs to do, and one of them....the most appealing, was to make a cover for my brand spanking new card spinner.
I wanted this to be a really quick, cheap and cheerful project as it it purely a cover....not for sale or any other purpose...so I started off by hand cutting heart shapes from paper.....
and then printed the calico fabric all over with pale pink screen ink
Next I poured some dark red into the screen (this was a mistake....MUCH too dark but who cares?) This is only a cover I told myself!
Next was orange fabric paint but it mixed in with the dark red on the screen and turned out light red....Oh well....carry on.....
Time for some nice bright green.....I poured some onto a glass sheet, rollered it and then stamped the pattern all over.....
followed by pink patterning too
My hands AFTER I'd washed them having decided to outline all the heart with gold cerne relief before lunch!
I really needed to break up the dark red of the hearts so quickly cut a funky foam spiral and mounted it onto a tonic bottle lid (note to self...MUST buy more tonic for mum's G&T!!!) I used it to stamp bronze spirals in the hearts
Here is a close up of the fabric.....you can see the rough gold outlines on the hearts....
and the cover on the spinner......
and the BEST bit is having a 4 1/2" strip of printed fabric left so must now think what I am going to do with it!

My Font on scrapbook cover

I realise that the blog cannot see my font so here it is on a cover I am making for an 'I love You' origami scrapbook
Gareth taught me how to do hyperlinks today and so now I can make those wizzy words that link to things! Hopefully, if you click here you will be able to make your own free handwriting font. It is quick and easy to do
If it does not work, here is the site http://www.yourfonts.com/
