Elaine's Challenge and other things..

It is a long drive home from Scotland and so I had plenty of things with me for the journey including this. Inspired by an idea I had seen by Kelli Nina Perkins, I glued vintage book paper onto watercolour paper and then machine embroidered it, painted it with intense colours and finally beaded it. I still need to add a few more beads.
Thank you Kelli!

Something else I have been working on a for a white. I love to use old white cotton sheeting and make cotton wool fabric by glueing cotton wool onto it with wallaper paste. HORRIBLE JOB!!! I ran some colour into it while it was wet and then used a roller to add more colour befre stitching the flowers onto it. In the top left corner is a stupidly small, tacky watering can. COMPLETELY out of scale and so I need to think what to do about it. In the meantime....I have covered it with another watercoloir paper picture

Elaine set 4 of us a challenge to use 4 blank white mini canvases like an article in cloth Paper Scissors a while ago. I got really stuck on it and haven't had enough time so mine is work in progress.....I have yet to think what I am going to put in each of the canvases.

This is Elaine's piece. She has edged each frame with corrugated card and made beautiful embroidered pictures for each frame and then usnited then all with footsteps made with a mini punch. The four are screwed together

I have been awake most of the night coughing and now feel really quite unwell. not much energy for anything today other than getting ready for Sara's mum coming over from Sweden tonight. Must get practising the phrases I asked Sara to teach me! Why do I have to be ill on my days off? I had so much planned to do
