I have just returned from a three day retreat at Belstead, my favourite place. They take such good care of you and all you have to do is have fun! I shall be back again in February teaching scrapbooking so it was fun to have some 'me' time after all the Christmas festivities.

Close up of a folder I made inspired by Angie Hughes book. I loved the texture and stitching on her sunflower folder design but I love working with bright colours. Colour excites the inner creative bit of me. I shall post another picture when it is finished.

The background of this piece was printed onto transfer paper from a wax and watercolour resist. It is my first experiment combining old photos (the little girl is me in 1955) and my mum as a baby. I have only recently been given pictures of mum when she was small so I hope to use them in my art. I love free machine stitching and lettering. I must remember to be true to the words and dream every day!

This is a postcard sized piece with pelmet Vilene to stiffen it. I have sent one through the post and it arrived unscathed! I had fun experimenting with hair, faces, wings and legs.

Wonderful art. Someday, when I'm done with my thesis, I'm going to start a blog as interesting as yours :)

Rose...I was SO thrilled to get your message. I have only just tonight worked out how to link into the Inspire Me Thursday blog and hearing from you made my day! I wonder what your thesis is about? Best of luck with your future creativity. Moira
