Painting session

I found this acrylic painting I did three yearrs ago. It was done on canvas and PERFECT for stitching into so had a go.
Sara came over in the afternoon and we ended up spending the evening in the studio painting together....
She was inspired by a wonderful long feather that was standing on the window sill, and had a blissful time painting it in the three colour ways. She wanted to add some gold spots to it so I suggested scattering a few beads on first to see if she liked the effect. I'm afraid I forgot to photograph it once she had finished it. Bother!
Meanwhile...I wasn't really sure what I was going to do but decided to paint a quick angel in a child's board book that I had altered a while ago. I decided to use the little book to experiment with small ideas instead of making them into scrapbooks as I had intended!
I used Sara's hair to inpire me! I will post the finished picture another time
Another 'find' yesterday. Here, I have machined onto half of it before I thought I should have taken a photo first..Ah well
I carried on using the sewing machine like a black pen and was pleased with the result. I painted this on one of those serious painting days when everyone was using blues and greens and browns and grey.......Boring.....BRING ON THE COLOUR!!!!! I NEED colour

Oh dear....I have just deleted the last two pictures.....Oh aren't computers infuriating!

The paintings are great. I love the landscape. I am to understand that you are also sewing on them? Is the black outline thread? Very interesting.

Would not have thought to sew onto a painted canvas. You are so inspirational!! I love your ideas.
I finally bought some gesso and some A5 canvas 'pages' today to play with. Just need time now. Giving up work sounds so appealing but I would miss the money to feed my addiction to create!

Yes...the black outlines are thread. I like to use my machine like a black pen....but much freer and more fun and it doesn't smudge!
Must admit to NOT using the black machine stitching on the girl's face...just the black paint and fine brush.
Giving up work has been fun but I now have NO MONEY!!!!! Did sell 21 cards this morning though at a local sale in 2 1/2 hours. Not bad.
