Backgrounds for mixed media pictures

I have been having fun starting to work on some little paintings on these 7" canvases. None are finished yet but I am so enjoying painting again
I had a background making session today......I like the effect here. I had been stamping backgrounds and very little paint left on the glass sheet so I pressed one little canvas onot it and got this swirly result.
I then stamped it with heat set foam which had been pressed into cooked spaghetti!
When I'm not 100% sure what I am going to do I love to rustle up a few backgrounds and here are today's efforts. I shall post again when I have had the fun on creating pictures on them!
I also enjoyed splodging paint into old children's board books which I had first gessoed....I'll use them for little scrapbooks

I guess I wasn't in the mood to produce a fabby painting as we were going to a friend's funeral this afternoon. He was diagnosed just two months ago with lung cancer. He was too young to die but it was a lovely service and it is always so good to meet up with people you've lost contact with. Life is to be enjoyed and I am going to do just that. I need to do some serious thinking about how to sell my cards....online or in small craft shops....or both?

lovely backgrounds. what fun. and cards - its hard to sell them I find. But would be interested in how you move forward. a designer maker shop in town sells mine. but I would need more outlets in order to run a business off it. There are a lot of online places i haven't tried like etsy and notonthehightstreet (or something like that....)
