Dyeing again!

Yesterday I made a decision. I am going to lave my job as a nurse and throw myself into making my living form my art. I will hand in my letter of resignantion on Monday and will work until the end of August. This will give them time to replace me!
I have thought about it so much and I have been so stressed since a full time nurse left in November and wasn't replaced. I intend to break free! It is a good feeling

Here is the result of the second batch of dyeing I did after the class on Wednesday. The dyes had really lost their oooph as they have been contaminated with the soda ash a couple of hours earlier

All the gorgeous lace was hand made by my mum, Sheila Robertson. She is 88 now and her wrists are too worn out to be able to make lace any longer. She always made torchon lace and added it to blouses, aprons, nighties curtains...anything! She only worked in white or black
I took it off her old clothes and saved it and here is the result!
I shall add it to the stash of brightly coloured lace I already have.

Congratulations. I am sure you will absolutely love throwing yourself into your art. The lace is beautiful, it's such a shame people these days don't spend the time to make gorgeous hand made lace. I wish I had the patience to do that.

Good luck with your decision to give up nursing to focus on your creative side. I am also a nurse (mental health) so approciate the pressures. It is important to follow your dreams, so I hope your plans work out.

And I love those pastel colors. It seriously makes me want to start dyeing.
