Tony Hillier's Sculptures

I have so much catching up to do and not enough time to do it ...bother! I thought I'd start with tonight as it was such fun. Our local Ladies Group had an evening at Tony Hillier's house in Histon.

All Tony's sculptures are encouraged to rust with salty water then preserved with cheap vegetable oil!

.It really was fun. I can really identify with him...he is a compulsive creator.....and has to be creative every day. It is humbling to meet such an unassuming, modest man who threw his door open to so many strangers and made us all so welcome. His latest passion is winemaking and after spending time in the garden looking at all his incredible metal scupltures, we sat down inside and sampled his home brewed wine...all based on fruit from a local apple tree and then variationas made with the addition of Trebor mints, aniseed, chocolate, 'Mamade' marmalade plup, ginger and Ribena....and don't forget the growmore he adds to help the yeast on its way!!!!!
