Union Jack and old lace!

Aha! I woke this morning with v..v..VROOM and had one of those wonderful creative sessions which leaves you feeling energised and excitied!
My 88 year old mum used to make miles and miles of white lace and sew it onto her nighties, blouses...in fact EVERYTHING! When she had finished wearing her clothes I ripped off the lace and dunked it into dye baths along with old white sheeting so I now have a delicious collection of coloured lace.

The background I have used is made from paper fabric using pages from an old needlework book and photocopies of of scissors, buttons...anything haberdashery-ish in fact. It was dyed and stamped with gold awaiting for this moment to be pulled out and used!

I love to make backgrounds when I'm not feeling creative as they always come in useful when inspiration strikes and it obviates the need to have start at the beginning and create the background....I can just go to my stash and pull out something suitable.

Right...now I'm back on track I'm off to make something else....before the creativity drains from me.......WHERE DOES IT GO?
